I currently reside in Hawaii and live alone. My wife is coming to the island as soon as she graduates and this gives me the opportunity to finally change my eating habits. I will be buying my own groceries and will have someone that knows how to cook as opposed to ordering everything through a window. My question is what do I buy? Im 22 years old, 5'10 and roughly 140lbs. Im pretty skinny. Ive always had trouble gaining weight, while my genes play a role in my size I know that my poor eating habits also contribute. Im in the army and exercise regularly, Im in pretty good shape and run alot. Its difficult to find a diet to GAIN weight. Ive tried different protein shakes but nothing has ever really helped me significantly. Ive also tried different diets to just increase my calorie intake but generally I cant eat an obscene amount of food in one sitting. Untill I can maybe build up my appetite what are the best types of foods to eat so I can gain weight but still be eating healthy?
